Australian based Laura Blythman's ultramodern, quirky illustrations are both original in concept and beautiful in execution. Her linear drawings are complemented by bright pink/gold glitter injections which gives her work great shelf appeal. Her website can be found here.

One Minute Interview with... Designer Carol Robinson
Hi Carol, thanks for taking the time to talk to House of Prints.
- What is your background?
Fine art/painting.
- How would you sum up your style in a few words?
Colourful, bold.
- Where do you get inspiration from?
Mid century modern design and fine art.
- What was the last thing you 'Googled'?
Pictures of flags for a logo I am working on for someone.
- 3 random things you like?
South of France, Triumph motorbikes and Frank Sinatra.
- Any advice for up and coming designers?
Draw every day that you get the chance, work really hard on producing a strong portfolio of work and don't give up on your dreams. Use every set back as a lesson to push you forward and your hard work will pay off.
What a wonderful piece of advice! See more of Carol's work here.

Paperchase: 'Lunch Brunch'
Cute Kawaii inspired characters from Paperchase, this time in the form of... lunch? Yes, lunch. And they're darn cute. 'Lunch Brunch' is Paperchase's new stationery collection featuring healthy lunch characters, from a fresh slice of pink watermelon to a moustache-bearing hummus. If you're hungry for more (my apologies), then have a gander here.

Designer of the Day: Carol Robinson
Carol Robinson is a wonderfully talented illustrator and surface pattern designer, specialising in geometrics, characters, seasonal and floral patterns. Her technique is hand-drawn or painted then enhanced in Photoshop or Illustrator, retaining the lively, 'free' feeling of pen-to-paper. I particularly love her choices of colour combinations and the linear quality to her work. See more of her designs here.

Childrenswear: Gap Kids
Gap have a great selection of character work on their childrenswear at the moment - from festive wrapped up animals to bright, tropical prints. 'Tropical' is predicted to be a big 2014 trend, with flamingoes already popping up on the British High Street.
